How does it work?

BTL EMSELLA is the HIFEM® procedure, that utilizes electromagnetic energy, at a high frequency, to cause pelvic floor muscle stimulation completely non-invasively. Similar to the contractions you perform when doing a Kegel exercise. What makes this treatment effective is the in-depth penetration and stimulation of the entire pelvic floor area. A single session brings you thousands of intense contractions that you would not be able to do on your own. These contractions are very helpful when it comes to muscle strengthening and re-education.

How quickly will I see improvement?

Most patients see improvement after six sessions, scheduled twice a week, over the course of 3 weeks. You may observe improvement after only a few sessions depending on the severity of your condition. Some patients may need more treatments depending on the severity of their condition and their goals of treatment. The results vary from person to person, and an exact result cannot be predicted.

What about men with urinary incontinence?

As stated above, men suffering from incontinence may benefit as well.  Though less common, men may suffer from urinary incontinence for a variety of reasons, including prostate problems or a history of prostate cancer, obesity, neurologic issues, smoking, and sometimes for no identifiable reason.  EMSELLA is FDA-approved to help control incontinence in these situations. 

In addition, EMSELLA has been found in some men to improve erectile dysfunction as well as enhance ejaculation, though these reports have not been evaluated by the FDA.

What about sexual benefits in women?

Just as in men, there seem to be benefits to sexual health reported by some women who complete a course of EMSELLA treatments.  Though not evaluated by the FDA, these reports include greater sensitivity during intercourse (in part due to vaginal wall tightening), as well as more pleasurable and easier to achieve orgasms.
